| The Road to the Kentucky Derby is heating up! In order to earn a spot in the starting gate for the Kentucky Derby, horses must earn points by finishing in the top five placings of qualifying races. The top twenty point earning horses will compete in the famed Run for the Roses on the First Saturday in May.
